Step 1: Situation Assessment
Where are we now?
Situation Assessment involves a combination of tools, such as surveys, focus groups, interviews, retreats, organizational audits and a review of existing plans. A full understanding of your group’s current situation requires answering key questions such as:
- What are the stakeholders’ perceptions of your organization?
- How are you progressing in achieving existing plans?
- What are the strengths and challenges of your organization as a whole, and in specific areas, such as governance, structure, programs and processes?
During this stage, we perform SWOT analysis, which identifies the most visible key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of your organization.
||What are the organization’s internal strengths?
||What are the organization’s internal weaknesses?
||What external opportunities might move the organization forward?
||What external threats might hold the organization back?
